In 2019, fellow SCU student Victoria Russo and I designed and painted a mural for The Forge, the campus community garden. The mural celebrates Santa Clara’s rich agricultural and horticultural heritage, depicting grape and peach orchards alongside California poppies, the state flower. These elements honor the region’s history when it was known as The Valley of Heart’s Delight for its vast, thriving orchards.
