the bucolic LABYRINTH
In 2020, I had the incredible opportunity to assist Bay Area artist Paz de la Calzada in carving and assembling her interactive public art installation, The Bucolic Labyrinth. We cut the labyrinth’s winding path from recycled turf squares sourced from a local soccer field. The installation not only challenged the use of synthetic turf but also highlighted art’s ability to transform waste into something meaningful.
